About Alessia De Gasperis
Alessia De Gasperis is a dynamic professional who bridges her background in the arts with her legal expertise.
In 2019, Alessia earned a Specialized Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts in Jazz Voice from York University, where she honed her performance skills and deepened her passion for the arts.
Transitioning from the stage to the courtroom, Alessia went on to complete a Dual Juris Doctor in Canadian and U.S. Law through the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. During law school, Alessia was actively involved in the Windsor Italian Law Association, where she celebrated her Italian heritage; and Amnesty International at Windsor Law, where she advocated for human rights.
Alessia joined Diamond and Diamond Lawyers LLP as an articling student in August 2023, before being called to the Ontario Bar in June 2024. She now maintains a litigation practice focused on advancing the rights and interests of her clients.
A significant component of Alessia’s practice involves representing survivors of sexual assault and abuse. She approaches this work with deep compassion, sensitivity, and an unwavering commitment to client dignity. Alessia understands that for many survivors, pursuing a civil claim is not only about financial compensation but about reclaiming power, seeking accountability, and being heard. She is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel respected and empowered throughout the legal process. Her advocacy is trauma-informed and client-centered, ensuring that survivors maintain agency at every stage of their case. Alessia is passionate about holding individuals and institutions accountable and believes civil litigation can be a powerful tool for systemic change. She is dedicated to advancing access to justice for survivors and to amplifying their voices in and outside the courtroom.
Outside of her legal practice, Alessia enjoys baking, maintaining an active lifestyle, spending time with family and friends, and embracing opportunities to return to the stage.
